A special feature is that the market complex is constructed so that vegetable lorries can be brought to every shop up to the 3rd floor of the four-storey Manning Market in Peliyagoda.
The Manning Market, which was limited to 2 acres in Pettah, has been converted into a fully-fledged wholesale market spread over 13.5 acres.

Colombo – Katunayake Expressway E03 is Sri Lanka’s second E Class highway. The 25.8-kilometre-long (16.0 mi) highway links the Sri Lankan capital Colombo with Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake and Negombo city

Construction of the highway began in October 2009, and was opened on the 27^th of October 2013, by former president Mahinda Rajapakse. It boasts a six-lane highway from Colombo to Peliyagoda, and a four-lane highway from Peliyagoda to Katunayaka, with a width ranging from 26 to 33.5 meters (85 to 110 feet). The E03 expressway links Colombo, the nation’s commercial capital with one of the country’s major tourist destination, Negombo city, and to the Bandaranaike International Airport in 20 minutes. The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has also commenced a luxury bus service on the road conducting services between Colombo and Negombo.

Lotus Tower

• Designed in the shape of a lotus and will change between a pinkish hue and yellow hue which will be achieved with special glass coatings
• Primarily to be used as a support structure for 50 television services, 35 FM Radio Stations and 20 telecommunication service providers

The Lotus Tower is a tower under construction with a proposed height of 350 m (1,150 feet), located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. When completed, the tower will be the tallest building in South Asia. The lotus-shaped tower will be used for communication, observation and other leisure facilities, with construction costing $104.3 million and is visible throughout Colombo, its suburbs and most highways.

The tower will have four entrances, with two being used as VIP entrances. A telecommunications museum and restaurant will be located on the ground floor. The tower podium will consist of 6 floors. The first floor of the podium will accommodate a museum and two exhibition halls. The second floor will be utilized for several conference halls with seating space in excess of 500 people. Restaurants, supermarkets and food courts will be situated in the third floor. A 1000-seat auditorium will be located on the fourth floor, which will also be used as a ballroom. The fifth floor will include luxury hotel rooms, large ballrooms, and the seventh floor will host an observation gallery.
